In addition to protection of title and rights, the NNTC also provides programs and other services to our member communities.
Nlaka'pamux Services Society (NSS) houses health, education and social well-being programs, including patient travel.
NNTC was instrumental in the creation of and continues to provide administrative support to Hans Knakst Tsitxw (Helping Hands) Society - a safe home for women and children in the Nlaka'pamux Nation.
Fraser Thompson Indian Services Society (FTISS) houses programs that receive federal funding including Tribal administration, community capacity support, training programs and the Specific Claims Program.
FTISS and NSS were formed by the NNTC with community Board members on an interim basis to meet program funding requirements. Provincially controlled entities are not the ultimate way in which Nlaka'pamux jurisdiction will be exercised. While these Societies still function, exercising Nlaka'pamux jurisdiction is happening concurrently, for example, ShchEma-mee-tkt exercises jurisdiction over care of Nlakapa'mux children and families.
